Museum Mission Statement – to collect, preserve, explore and promote Ukrainian art of the ХХ – ХХІ centuries.

Main directions of Museum’s work include

  • Research which is a basis for creation of an electronic catalogue of the collection along with a database of Artists of Ukraine.
  • Continuous replenishment of the collection: collaboration with authors, collectors, scientific research expeditions in regions of Ukraine.
  • Conducting of intensive exhibition activities in order to introduce the artwork of the greatest Ukrainian artists, regional art-schools and prominent events in the history of Ukrainian painting. Presentation of Ukrainian artworks abroad.
  • Return the forgotten names of Ukrainian artists to art history.
  • Restitution of fine art heritage of Ukrainian Diaspora artists back to Ukraine.
  • Provision of support for young gifted painters.
  • Educational programs of all levels.

The work with preschool and school age children is a strategically important area of our activity just as it is for many museums in the world. That is due to the fact that a museum is a place where children should feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed, where they can acquire knowledge and create. Therefore, it is symbolic that a sincere painting by Sergiy Tsiupko’s daughter has become its emblem.
