The First Private Museum of Ukrainian Contemporary Art has announced the results of the All-Ukrainian online children’s drawing competition “Easter Holidays Through the Eyes of Children”. The competition, which started on 19 January 2026, ended on 17 April. The acceptance of works was extended until 10 April due to the extremely sincere and active response from participants from all corners of Ukraine. Hundreds of young artists shared their vision of Easter — bright, warm, filled with family comfort, folk traditions and sincere faith in the future.
This competition became a logical continuation of the successful 2024 initiative “I Draw Ukraine — Peaceful and Free!”, which united about a thousand children. This time we invited young artists to delve into one of the most important pages of Ukrainian culture — Easter holidays.
“National traditions, knowledge of rituals and symbols are laid down in childhood,” — emphasises the founder of the museum, Serhiy Tsiupko.
Through the symbols of pysanky, baskets, spring revival, family customs and Easter joy, children were not just drawing a holiday. They conveyed their emotions, memories, hopes and a deep inner sense of traditions that are formed precisely in childhood.
The competition was as open and inclusive as possible. A separate category with three prize places was provided for children with special educational needs (SEN). This gave every child the opportunity to feel part of a large creative process, regardless of circumstances.

The winners have already been determined. First place — Apple iPad, second and third places were awarded modern mobile phones. Participants who took places from fourth to tenth received exquisite jewellery from the Museum’s permanent partner — the Kyiv Jewellery Factory. The top twenty best works received diplomas from the Museum. All prize-winning drawings, as well as a number of other bright works, will be exhibited in the halls of the First Private Museum of Ukrainian Contemporary Art and presented on the Museum’s official Facebook page.
“Art has a special power — it helps a person talk about the most important things even when words are not enough,” — notes Serhiy Tsiupko.
Every work submitted to the competition is a little story. Children drew not just a holiday, but their inner world: the warmth of grandmother’s hands, the smell of paskha, sunlight on pysanky, hope and joy even in difficult times. It is in these drawings that the power of art is especially felt.
Through drawing, children express their experiences, dreams and faith in the victory of good. Art becomes for them not just a hobby, but a language that helps them make sense of reality, preserve their connection with their roots and build a bright future.

The competition “Easter Holidays Through the Eyes of Children” went far beyond a regular competition. It turned into a real space for dialogue between generations. Children’s vision, pure and sincere, allows adults to rediscover the most important things — the value of traditions, the power of family, the beauty of simple things and the invincible faith in tomorrow.
“Sometimes it is the child’s perspective that helps us adults see what is most important,” — says Serhiy Tsiupko.
We sincerely thank every participant of the competition — the children who boldly took part and shared their creativity. We thank the parents and teachers who supported the young artists, helped them find time and inspiration. Special thanks go to the partners without whom this project could not have taken place on such a scale: the Serhiy Tsiupko Charity Foundation and the Kyiv Jewellery Factory. It is thanks to their consistent support that we can not only hold competitions, but create real opportunities for the development of young talents.
“Patronage in the field of culture and education for me is not just support for individual projects. It is an investment in the future. It is through culture, art and creativity that the worldview of the new generation is formed,” — is convinced Serhiy Tsiupko. “To awaken interest in creativity, a thirst for knowledge, history and the beliefs of one’s native country is our goal, the most important task of the competition.”
This project has once again proved: a child’s drawing is not just paper and paints. It is the voice of a new generation that is already shaping the cultural space of Ukraine today. It is a bridge between traditions and modernity, between the past and the future. It is a reminder that, despite all challenges, art remains an unchanging source of light, hope and unity.
The First Private Museum of Ukrainian Contemporary Art plans to continue developing its work with children’s audiences. We believe that systematic support for young talents is the best investment in the future of our country.
“Supporting children’s creativity is supporting the future of Ukraine,” — emphasises Serhiy Tsiupko.
The entire Museum team fully supports these words of Serhiy Viktorovych. We agree that the Future of Ukraine lies in the upbringing and support of creative youth. We thank everyone who became part of this bright and important project. Let’s keep creating together!
