The Museum of Contemporary Art of Ukraine continues the art project “Conversations about Art”. Event date: July 10 (Thursday) at 7:00 PM, another conversation will take place – an online lecture “Female Artists in Impressionism: A Female Perspective”
Our lectures on the history of art and the creative lives of outstanding artists continue!
We will continue to consider the bright, diverse and multifaceted impressionism. And this time we will see how talented women artists added new touches and magical charm to this style. What special thing did women artists add to impressionism? Why was being an artist in the 19th century a bold choice, and what prevented women from realizing themselves in creativity? We will discuss these and other interesting topics during the lecture. In this lecture, we will examine the lives and work of artists Berthe Morisot, Mary Cassatt, Marie Bracmont, and Eva Gonzalez. The most famous of them, Berthe Morisot, created her own recognizable, original, and dynamic version of Impressionism, captivating with its elegance, and remained true to it throughout her life. The American Mary Cassatt, despite her life circumstances, became an important part of French Impressionism, striving to study art in Europe and create in a new style. The names of Marie Bracmont and Eva Gonzalez were forgotten for a long time, but now their unique, extraordinary work has been rediscovered for the audience. In the following lectures, we will continue the story of other outstanding artists – and travel further into the interesting and amazing world of art.
