The exhibition “Artistic Madrigals of Yuriy Lutskevich” is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of one of the brightest representatives of Ukrainian neo-baroque of the second half of the 20th century.
Yuriy Lutskevich is an artist who experienced art as the harmony of life. His works, like madrigals, convey the deepest experiences: spirituality, the beauty of everyday life and the solemnity of moments. The exhibition presents the artist’s paintings and graphic works from the private collection of his wife Halyna Gorodnicheva, as well as works from the museum’s funds.
The exhibition covers various genres and themes of the artist’s work – from biblical subjects and portraits to lyrical landscapes of France, Croatia and Israel. Each work by Yuriy Lutskevich is a carefully thought-out harmony of color and form, full of warmth, optimism and a deep sense of life.
Special emphasis is placed on the artist’s watercolor works from the 1970s, which convey his emotional state and reflections, as well as demonstrate the virtuosity of the brushstroke and the sophistication of the style. In his works, the artist remained true to his nature – a light and sonorous brushstroke testifies to his creative enthusiasm and joy of being.
The exhibition will be not only a retrospective of Yuriy Lutskevich’s creative path, but also an invitation to reflect on the philosophy of life embodied in his works.
