We invite you to the “Rest for the Soul” exhibition, a unique dialogue between contemporary Ukrainian art and the historical ambiance of the Kachanivka National Historical and Cultural Reserve. This project showcases works from the collection of the First Private Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art, curated by its founder, Serhiy Tsyupko, in a setting once frequented by Taras Shevchenko, Mykola Gogol, and Ilya Repin.

The exhibition features approximately 30 works by prominent Ukrainian artists, reflecting the creative spirit of Ukraine through landscapes, portraits, and narrative compositions. Each painting tells a story of inspiration, inner peace, and love for the homeland, conveyed through vibrant colors, expressive motifs, and heartfelt emotions. The collection captures Ukraine’s diverse geography: from the sunlit Crimean landscapes of Viktor Tolochko and Valentyn Bernadskyi to the festive motifs of Zakarpattia by Yuriy Hertz and Vyacheslav Prykhodko, from the delicate works of Odesa’s Orest Sleshynskyi to the dynamic canvases of Kharkiv’s Oleksandr Khmelnytskyi. Kyiv is represented by Iryna Hodunova, Lyuba Rapoport, Hanna Faynerman, and Ihor Chamata, while Lviv shines through the expressive art of Volodymyr Patyk.

Designed as a space for emotional renewal, the exhibition offers hope and warmth in challenging times. The unique 19th-century interiors of Kachanivka enhance the resonance of these contemporary works, creating a harmonious connection between past and present.

This year’s exhibition celebrates the 20th anniversary of the First Private Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art, whose collection now exceeds 6,000 works. The event in Kachanivka is made possible through the generous support of the Serhiy Tsyupko Charitable Foundation, which continues the tradition of patronage and promotion of Ukrainian art.
