February 24, 18:00. Opening of the exhibition of a well-known artist Iryna GERASYMOVA.

The exposition features over 30 works of art and the most part of it will be presented to the visitors for the first time. This is to include the works of 2009-2010: “Girl”, “Garden house”, “Christmas”, “Hortensia”, “Market”, etc.  

Iryna GERASYMOVA usually follows classical painting style. Many of her works have a number of mystic and at the same time humorous elements; in her works the reality somehow exists along with the imagination, and the imagination, being so similar to a reality, is difficult to distinguish from one another.

“It took me a lot of time to realize this “unreal” realism which is so natural to me. I don’t know why but I was always trying to make everything as “best” as possible – as more “realistic” as possible (after all, I lived in an old society) and the result of my work appeared to have some minor “violations” which I considered to be my disadvantages. In a while I understood that it was my way of expressing the attitude towards life and art. So I’ve stopped looking around. And I felt much easier”, – these is what Iryna Gerasymova told about her difficult pass to creative research.

It is absolutely true that the world of paintings by Iryna Gerasymova is like nothing on earth. Even though her husband and son, famous artists Vladyslav Mamsikov and Maksym Mamsikov, are working alongside her.

Vladyslav Mamsikov highly estimates the work of his wife: “Iryna works a lot. Nowadays you wouldn’t like to go with the young wolves as they would bite you to death in no time. That is why, having such ethereous and womanliness works makes it hard for her to compete with somebody. In the same time I can see that she is an artist who is feeling very scrupulous about art. This is the most important”.
