SUMMARY:Moments of Inspiration in Kachanivka: A New Journey for the "Art Voyage" Project
DESCRIPTION:The “Art Voyage” project\, initiated by the First Private Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art founded by Serhiy Tsyupko\, is back on the road. This time\, it travels to the Kachanivka National Historical and Cultural Preserve—a place that has long served as a nexus for creative inspiration and artistic dialogue. \nKachanivka boasts a unique atmosphere\, shaped by centuries of cultural history. It was here that luminaries such as Taras Shevchenko\, Nikolai Gogol\, Marko Vovchok\, Ilya Repin\, Mykola Ge\, and many other distinguished figures worked and found inspiration. In the 19th century\, artist Vasyl Shternberg created his most famous works at the estate\, earning prestigious academic accolades. Today\, this continuity of artistic tradition is palpable in the museum’s latest exhibition. \nThe exhibition\, titled Moments of Inspiration\, integrates seamlessly into the preserve’s historic space\, reinforcing the connection between different eras of Ukrainian art. The display features works from the museum’s permanent collection\, which comprises over 6\,000 pieces and showcases a diverse range of artistic movements and individual approaches. \nThe exhibition brings together artists from across Ukraine\, including painters from Kyiv\, Zakarpattia\, Crimea\, Kharkiv\, and Lviv. The featured artists include Volodymyr Reunov\, Boris Mikhailov\, Ivan Tiukha\, Serhiy Dupliy\, Hryhoriy Faynerman\, Ihor Hodunova\, Ivan and Larysa Brovdi\, Yuriy Herts\, Viktor Tolochko\, Oleksandr Khmelnytskyi\, Myroslav Demtsyuk\, Volodymyr Patyk\, and others. Many of these names belong to a circle of artists whose creative legacy has formed a cornerstone of contemporary Ukrainian painting. \nMoments of Inspiration serves as an attempt to capture the subtle emotional states\, familiar imagery\, and inner experiences that shape an individual viewer’s journey. The exhibition invites visitors to engage in mindful\, unhurried contemplation and to enter into a personal dialogue with the artwork. \nThis project was made possible through the support of the Serhiy Tsyupko Charitable Foundation\, which is dedicated to promoting Ukrainian art and expanding public access to museum collections. \nThe exhibition is currently on display in the exhibition halls of the Kachanivka Preserve. We invite you to visit and discover your own Moments of Inspiration.

SUMMARY:Fedir Zakharov «Reflection of Feelings»
DESCRIPTION:The name of Fedir Zakharov resonates brightly in the history of the Crimean school of painting. In the 1950s\, after graduating from the V.I. Surikov Art Institute\, the young artist was assigned to Crimea. His period of pedagogical work at the M.S. Samokysh Crimean Art College became a formative time for his professional development and defined the next chapter of his life. \nAfter three years of teaching\, the artist moved to the Southern Coast of Crimea\, fully dedicating himself to creative work. This marked a period of immersive professional painting practice and profound analysis of nature. Living in Yalta\, Fedir Zakharov also actively participated in plein air painting sessions in Sedniv\, in the Chernihiv region. This style of constant location changes allowed the artist to “clean his palette\,” train his eye\, and master the laws of artistic lightness\, which contributed to the development of flexible spatial thinking. \nThe subjects of the artist’s works are often simple and unpretentious. He focused his gaze on his immediate surroundings\, seeing beauty in simple natural uniqueness. His “landscape of mood” was born in the play of light\, the rhythm of the brushstroke\, and the dynamic of inner movement. Through these explorations\, the artist enriched the landscape tradition of the Crimean school\, earning the title of “domestic impressionist” from critics. In his works\, the author demonstrated a special sensitivity to changes in seasons\, lighting\, and times of day\, masterfully conveying the lushness of greenery or the saturation of the sky. \nMaking full use of daylight for his creative work\, the artist also enthusiastically painted nocturnal landscapes and still lifes\, which are featured in this exhibition. More than fifty works demonstrate the master’s level of artistic virtuosity and temperament\, while the thematic diversity testifies to the lightness of his creative inspiration. \nThe art of Fedir Zakharov (1919–1994) now constitutes the “Golden Fund” of any art collection. The Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art has repeatedly presented works by this People’s Artist of Ukraine and laureate of the State Prize in its projects. In the format of a “Museum Residency\,” we turn once again to the legacy of the artist to share his insightful vision of the world with you. \nThe art of reflecting feelings… More than fifty works from the museum’s collection enchant with their professional ability to convey the reality seen around us. The ability to remain engaging and to gift the emotions preserved in these works belongs only to those whom we rightfully call painters with a capital letter\, the Classics of the school. \nWe invite you to immerse yourself in this creative atmosphere and share the master’s impressions throughout the summer.
